Last year's probably most acclaimed Hungarian product design is not a one-off success, but the result of the consistent work of the creators, a Hungarian design company, achieved over the years. Similarly to its previous projects, the company controlled the completeness of the design processes for this product as well, from design through to the technical details of production up to certain elements of marketing. Developed from previous experience with similar devices, the dry salt inhaler is an innovative, ergonomic, portable medical device that allows its users to enjoy the benefits of salt therapy anywhere, any time. The primary message of the product is to maintain a healthy quality of life: using it for 15-20 minutes a day can help prevent many problems and diseases - allergies, coughs, asthma, bronchitis, wheezing, snoring, sore throats and laryngitis, and respiratory problems caused by smoking. Compared to previous salt inhalers, the innovation of the product lies primarily in its shape and material, as it is made of 100% degradable, biocompatible plastic.
The jury’s evaluation:
The inhaler is an outstanding example of a complex design process that is thought through to a high standard in every detail, up to the product level. An accurate and detailed analysis of the functional problems of existing and known ceramic salt inhalers and of the identified user needs has resulted in a completely new product in which form, use of materials, technology, packaging and image form an organic, mutually reinforcing unity. »The form is both clean and friendly, thought through in every detail. “Hand and pocket friendly”.
