In order to maintain your health, it is good to know the main symptoms of COPD and asthma.

What are the symptoms?

Respiratory diseases are a risk primarily for those living in large cities and/or those who smoke. This is because the lungs are exposed to a lot of harmful substances - among them exhaust fumes, tobacco smoke, not to mention various pathogens.

Therefore, if you notice any of these symptoms, visit your family doctor immediately.

• hampered respiration, shortness of breath

• bloody cough, bloody sputum

• chest and back pain

• wheezing after sports, difficulty breathing

In general, therefore, it is worth visiting your doctor in any case that persists or is differs from the usual.

Prevention of respiratory diseases

Experts cannot emphasize enough the importance of prevention, as it is much more difficult to reverse the process when the disease is already in place.

With the following simple and easy-to-apply tips, you too can prevent respiratory illnesses.

Strengthen your immune system

A weakened immune system which has inflammation in it is more easily infected, which is why a varied, vitamin-rich diet is essential. In addition to all this, of course, you should also consume vitamin C in the form of a dietary supplement, because, unfortunately, vegetables and fruits nowadays no longer have a high enough content of vitamins and minerals.

Give up active get rid of and passive smoking

Smoking is one of the leading causes of various lung diseases, such as COPD. Both active and passive smoking destroys the lungs, irritates the bronchi, thereby causing inflammation.

If you smoke, try to quit or reduce the amount, and if one of your family members, or your partner smokes, try to stay away from cigarette smoke as much as possible.

Avoid enclosed spaces

Pathogens can quickly and effectively infect humans - almost immediately - while travelling on a bus or travelling in any other enclosed space. Therefore, where possible, avoid these situations and choose to walk.

Of course, there are times when it is inevitable that you travel by public transport. In such cases, it is good to have a portable salt inhaler that can be used while you are travelling on a bus, or even when flying. This is because salt reduces inflammation and cleanses the airways in a matter of seconds.
